Exclamation A few suggestions.. (All thrown together!)

Well, I've had some suggestions going through my head since day one of playing GW.. I wrapped them up and posting them here.

- Colored loots / Dyes
I think we should be able to see (more clearly) when a magical (blue), uncommon (purple) or rare item (yellow/gold) is dropped. When you see the message.

I mean even if the item isnt for you, its still cool to see if your party gets good loots. Also about Vial of Dyes, I think it would be cool to have the word "Dye" colored with the color of the actual item, even if its not for you. Another idea I got (dunno if its already implemented), what about Max Damage weapons are a different color? Lets say Red. And if you were to find a rare max damage, the color would pulse between red and gold. IMO that wouldnt be that hard to implement and would add a nice touch to item runs

- Vial of Dyes
I mean.. where are colors like White and Gold? More colors of dye wouldnt be that hard to implement if im not mistaken and would add some nice details. What about pearled dye? This would require more programming, but I would like to have a shiny (I mean shiny, pearlescent) blue, red or even silver armor. You could even add a single item (Dye Pearl or something that would act as the opposite of dye remover, it would intensify the reflection of the dye) that once mixed with a regular color (red) would make the red dye pearlescent.. Still some programming required, but a lot more customization and eye candy. (Because right now silver feels more like Yellow)

- Flying creatures
I'm not sure about this either, since I've not yet completed ascension in the crystal desert, but if there arent any, maybe it would be a good idea to implement flying creatures.. I mean arent dragons supposed to fly or something? It would also add to surprise.. wouldnt it be sweet to travel across a sweet plain while a red dragon comes from above and lands in front of your party? I think it would.

- Indoor areas/Dungeons/Catacombs
I'm almost certain this has been proposed (and probably already working on this), but if not, I think it would be a great idea to implement more indoor areas such as castles, churches, etc to make areas different from places to places. Could even have indoor towns.. like a castle in which you would find a market place in the middle with all the things you need (dye traders, material traders, etc)

- Trading Districts/Towns
I might not be the only one who thinks the Trade Chat is overflowing more and more every day. This isnt a bad thing, au contraire. I think there should be a district for every outpost, or even better, a giant market place (town or outpost) where players looking to buy or sell something could meet up, knowing they would have more chance to successfully achieve their goal than going in Ascalon or Lions Arch to try to sell/buy rares, ressources, etc... There could be signs and locations (similar to Lion's Arch crafters corner and merchants rows) where people selling/looking to buy specific items would look for and find human 'merchants'. There would be a Storage agent in every corner to help the efficiency of the trades.

- Map 'Beacons'
I think we should be allowed to have a certain amount of 'Beacons' or marks/checkmarks with a caption on our world map. Its always useful to know the location of a certain collector or townfolk or something. Something like 3 or 5 beacons would be reasonnable and allow for more efficient explorations. As an example, when I'm in my world map, I could double click a location anywhere on the map to add a beacon and a caption for it, so 3 days later when you finally collected your 5 ebon spider legs (ie ) you know where the collector is, you look at your map and look for the Ebon Legs Collector beacon. You should be able to delete them on command and have a limited number of these beacons so you're not flowing your map with them

That is all I can remember for now, will probably have more in the coming days since I thought about a lot more Note that I'm new to these boards, so some suggestions might have already been posted, just dont bash on me for suggesting them

Flying is no thx, indoor we already have, the rest are okay.

What the map REALLY needs is to be able to draw on it like the minimap so everyone can see it.

yeah, theres already things popping out of the ground. why not dropping out of the sky and on a similar note wouldn't it be awsome to see a ranger with a pet falcon?

Yeah, flying creatures would be a nice touch, seems like alot of work to make these creatures, well, assuming u want elevation change, i wouldnt expect it in a patch, but maybe an expansion. Definatly an idea i would love to see implemented. Especially for pets.

Some more Ideas...

- More Non-Class Specific Runes
I'd like to see more non-class specific runes, because right now there's only one type (vigor). Why not add Energy (minor : +5, major +10, sup +15), Armor (minor : +10, major : +20, sup +30) or other runes like that. Anyways, if im not mistaken, we can only have on rune per piece of armor, so players would have to manage what they think they need the most over skills, health, mana, etc..

- Trade Window | Chat
Another simple but yet useful addon would be the ability to talk to the one you're trading with, without having to resort to whispers or team chat. Simply by adding a chat section (to either side or under) the Trade window, you can solve this problem. It also avoid all the 'spam' usually found in the chat window (but yes I know you can only show whispers, but oh well)

- Guild Hall Customizations
I know this has been talked about and heard it was worked on for possibly the next chapter or so. But I strongly doubt any of these ideas ever were mentionned (except the first one )

- Guild Storage
This would work exactly the same as the current storage system, except you can store items and money for your guild mates. There should be a system where you can assign money and items to certain members, or the storage box could be separated into small sections for every members (lets say 2X5 slots per members). Off course, this storage would cost a lot because it helps transfer between members (something like 50K sounds reasonnable)

- Guild Merchant
Now I know this sounds weird, but I think it would be something good (might take a lot of space on the servers though ). You could hire a merchant that would buy items you dont want, keep them in store and offer it for sale. Kinda like an auction house, but without any auction (just selling). Kinda like a billboard with ads. You would choose a price and have it for sale for your guild only. Instead of asking in Guild Chat if anyone wants a rune of blabla, you could just put it up for sale there.

- Guild Material Merchant
This would be a bit like the previous one, only problem I see would be storage. Merchant would sell older materials first, so you put them for sale there. First come first serve.

- More Henchman classes/types
I think we shouldnt be restricted to 7 or 8 henchman types. Where are Earth or Water elementalists? Smiting Monk? Ranger with a pet?

I know some of these ideas sound wicked, weird or plain messy, but I think they could be implemented with the right planning

adding to the "map draw" idea, I wish I could see teamates locations on the large map. It's frustrating when you're out of sight of each other and you can only guess at where each other is.

"go north... I think, you know by that rock."

So nice of you to include my Guild storage idea in your list

Oh as for the flying creatures we do have floating ones now but flying would end up having the same issues the bridges have currently. lets wait until the game can recognize that the monster is in the chasm far below me and shouldn't attack me or block my path or let me attack it or use touch attacks on it before we look for true flying creatures.

We could adapt on the floating creature idea have a dragon come soaring in low and fast at you would be just as intimidating as if it were to come from above. frankly more so since hte camera is generally above and behind you and watching for aeral threats would be hard. Imagine a dragon with large wingspan cruising over the plains at a highspeed straight at your party. I mean some creatures can run why not let the dragon utilize its wings when running would make sorta long gliding hops

i agree with the dye part. i would really like white dye, so i can make my warrior look like the white mantle knights. there should also be a rune u can use on a dye that would make the dye glow, kinda like the chaos axes.

for the flying creatures, make it so that they cant attack from the sky, which would make things a lot easier to implement. they'll just be like creatures that pop up from the ground. imagine how cool it would be if ur walking and all of a sudden u see the shadow of a huge dragon just cover you.

Another suggestion I'd like to tack on (I've searched and haven't found it):

Allow unapplied runes to stack in your inventory to conserve space.

I like the Idea of castles... A LOT. I really miss that since I've stopped playing RyL, but you wouldn't know about that. Lol those were the grinding days: ok im 86% to my next lvl, I just gotta kill 82 more goblins (doing math while playing a game, stupid). 10 mins later: finally, just 80 more to go... you get the picture... 3 months later... just 40 more to go!

I think flying animals wold be just fine, and sound cool. They could add a bit more evasion or something of that sort, and make them take extra damage from knockdowns. Like said, we have creatures coming out of the ground, they may as well have creatures drop out of the sky. They don't all have to drop out of the sky, they could simply be floating, but this brings up the concept of reality, whereas most flying creatures can't just levatate, they fly by. Otherwise they could simply have them dive out of the sky (from nowhere) and land, then fight them. I think having winged creatures is simply realistic, even if they arn't flapping around, and it would be very nice if there were some monsters that you had tactical differences then you average run in and use X skill.
